It’s Life

After a very challenging weekend I thought it would be best that I reflect here to better clear my mind. It’s amazing how life can change in just the blink of an eye. I found myself receiving a phone call that literally altered my entire day, and had the potential to alter my entire life. But do you know in the same manner that someone was able to pick up a telephone to deliver me bad news, I was able to fall on my knees and call out to God, the author of good news. Honestly I knew that something bad was going to happen, not that I was wishing anything bad on myself or those around me, but simply because as I grow in Christ I am learning how the adversary operates. While this week has been blessing after blessing, good news after even more good news, I knew that there would be a challenge and test of my faith in the midst of it. Sometimes God just wants to see if you will still continue to praise Him and thank Him even when things aren’t going all peachy-keen the way they were just moments before. But do you know that I serve a God who does not thrive off of our suffering. He will never put more on you than you can bare, but there are some instances where He sees fit to allow the adversary to challenge us. In the challenge, and in the success of it, comes an even greater abundance of blessings. I’m not sure how well I passed the test I recently faced, but I know that I handled it better than I would have five or so years ago. And that’s what life is about, growing with each test and obstacle you face. Hopefully this all makes sense to someone out there. The main point I wish to get at here is that do not worry when life takes a turn for the worse, it’s life. It all becomes repetitive after a while really. God gives you blessings, you give thanks, then something happens to counteract and challenge the joy you are feeling. Of course it may not always happen just like that, it may not ever happen at all, or it could happen many moons later. The point is in the event that life starts suddenly going awry do not worry, for the Lord is with us always. Continue to smile, continue to pray, and continue to thank God for the blessings He has already given you. An even greater blessing is on the way. Just stand strong in the Lord! It all works out for our good, promise you that. It’s in His Word, so it must be true. God cannot lie! Oh how reassuring that is.

Continue to stand on His word and remember, it’s ok. It’s all just life.
